Our caring, certified staff will provide a quality environment for your child. We serve children in K-8th grades. Pre-registration is required with payments due a week prior to start of service. This is a fully licensed program so CYF and Childcare Partnerships will cover part of your fees if you are eligible for these programs.

The new Homewood-Brushton YMCA features a state-of-the-art health and wllness center fully equipped with a strength training circuit and cardio center, a full gymnasium, indoor track, locker rooms, meeting rooms, and computer lab. The Homewood Brushton YMCA is open Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sundays.
The outreach programs and services offered by the Y include tutoring, counseling, youth prevention and food pantry. The Homewood-Brushton YMCA provides programming for all ages and all income levels.
In 1916 the Homewood-Brushton YMCA was holding meetings at a community Church at the corner of Bennett Street and Homewood Avenue. During this time churches were providing mock Olympic competitions and father-son banquets for boys, as well as family picnics to unite the community. The house at 7140 Bennett Street was purchased in 1941 to be used as the permanent site of the Homewood-Brushton YMCA.

AWAY - As a member, you're part of the AWAY program which gives you access to YMCA's in the USA outside a 50 mile radius from your home YMCA, as long as the YMCA you are visiting participates in this program. AWAY - Any Where Any Y. Limited to 14 days per year per member. Use of the AWAY card at the Homewood YMCA is limited to 14 visits per year.

Summer camp, the adventure that lasts a lifetime! Come and be part of this year's Summer Day Camp Program. This summer we will explore the great outdoors, arts and crafts, visual art making and exciting field trips, team building, organized recreational sports and much more! Our well trained staff is prepared to support the social and emotional development for your child. We will strive to enrich the lives and character of every camper through the YMCA core values of Caring, Responsibility, Honesty and Respect. Children will leave camp with many memories and parents will know that their child was in a safe environment.
Financial Assistance is available through the YMCA Campaign for Strong Communities. All applicants must present proof of income to qualify. Please do not hesitate to ask for an application. We also accept scholarships from outside agencies CYF and CCIS.

Personal Training
The Homewood-Brushton YMCA is now offering personal training. With a certified trainer, you can take the guess work out of your training. A personal exercise program is designed for YOUR fitness needs! If motivation is a problem, you'll have a professional to motivate and guide you towards your goals. Appointments can be scheduled for a half hour or even an hour. The price is $25 per hour.

The Homewood-Brushton YMCA offers a wide range of beginner, intermediate and advanced group exercise classes which are included in your Full Facility Membership. Classes include Spinning, Senior Spinning,Hip Hop Aerobics, Kickboxing, Soul Line Dance, Flexibility and Strength, Yoga, and Circuit Training. We also participate in the Silver Sneakers program. Family Support Center
The Homewood-Brushton Family Support Center is funded through Allegheny County and DHS services families with children ages 0-5 years of age through our Parents as Teachers program. This is a free parent and family education support program that serves families throughout their pregnancy until the child enters kindergarten. The center serves Homewood, East Hills and Lincoln Larimer communities. We also offer other programs such as, Playgroups, Family Fun Night,Family Sewing, Male/Female Mentoring, Cubs Scouts,Parenting Classes just to name a few. For more information,call 412-243-2900 ex23.
Family Counseling
For those who have lost a loved one or family member due to
neighborhood violence, these weekly meetings with a licensed
psychologist and other staff provide support during the grieving
process.
We offer a variety of family programs and activities throughout
the year including Health and Wellness and Sports programs, For

This program is open to any high school student in theHomewood Area—students do not need to currently attend Westinghouse High School. We engage young people in activities with a focus on photography, visual arts, video production, spoken word, vocal music, dance and fashion design. Dinner and transportation home are provided. To enroll, please stop at the YMCA or Westinghouse High School office to pick up enrollment paperwork or call 412-243-2900 ex24. This program is funded by PNC Bank, Pittsburgh Public Schools, and the YMCA.
This resource provides weekly food distribution to families in need. The Food Bank package contains at least five staple meals for a family of three. Families are referred to our service through churches, community groups and other agencies. Registration takes place weekly on Wednesday mornings at 8:30a.m. for the Thursday Food Bank. Distribution and registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
YMCA East End Youth Outreach
In 1993 an Outreach Team was established to address the increase of violence and gang activity in the communities located in the East End. Outreach workers engaged with youth ages 12-24 in dialogue with hopes of diffusing volatile situations that resulted in a high number of deaths in our community. Our Outreach team addresses the violence impacting the youth and young adults in the East End Communities through mediations, mentoring, case management, intervention counseling, speaking engagements, peer support groups, court ordered community services, aftercare, school, community and street work. The programs are offered are Community Service, Peer Mentoring, Hearing Our Voices(H.O.V.), Pittsburgh Youth Intervention Welding Program, Employment referrals, G.E.D referrals, and Drugs and Alcohol referrals. Mentoring
For young people ages thirteen to eighteen, this program provides youth
with leadership training and matches them with productive adults in the
community. The group meets weekly to discuss a variety of topics and
also sponsors special events and community service projects.
Counseling and Support Services
YMCA Drug & Alcohol Counseling Services
The YMCA Counseling Services is a state licensed outpatient treatment program that provides treatment, case management and aftercare for individuals who are abusing alcohol and other drugs. A certified Addictions Couselor provides a therapeutic approach to treatment that develops a plan that must include short and long term goals. Services are provided to male and female consumers ages 14-60+, and they must be residents of Allegheny County. Therapy may consist of individual, group, and family sessions. We also provide referrals for medical services( i.e. physicals and HIV screening). Funding is provided by Allegheny County. To schedule an appointment please call 412-243-2900 ext 14
Women’s Support Group
Weekly meeting provide women of the community with support through
discussion about domestic abuse and male/female relationships. Drop-ins
welcome.
Group Counseling
This weekly meeting is for men who have completed their drug treatment
program. A therapist serves as an advisor to the group as they discuss
and deal with treatment issues.

Career & Workforce Development Center
The Employment Center provides critical training and preparation for those re-entering the workforce and for those looking for their first job. Our supportive staff works with individuals to prepare them for a job search. Resume and cover letter assistance, employment referrals and job placements, interview techniques and job training are just a few of the basics provided by the center. Visit our Collaborative office for a comprehensive resource and referral service. Our staff team can assist you with any issues or concerns you may be facing. All consultations are confidential.
