Day Camp Counselors
The South Hills YMCA is in need of counselors for Camp Sunshine, Camp Cloverleaf and Camp Southwinds. These camps serve kids ages 3 - 12. If you want a rewarding summer and a job that has a lot to offer than contact the South Hills YMCA at 412-833-5600.
Summer Sports Camp Coaches
The South Hills Branch of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh is looking for coaches to help instruct the basic fundamentals for the following sports: football, baseball, soccer, street hockey, and basketball. Kids for these camps will range from 3 to 5 years (soccer and t-ball only) and 6 to 12 (all camps). Knowledge of the sport is required. Assistant Child Care Practitioner/Teacher
Parttime opportunities for child care practitioner to plan for, play with and nuture children, infant through schoolage in NAEYC accredited child development center. Associates degree in early childhod education, child development, education or other child-related field minimum educational requirement along with two years experience caring for and working with children in groups.
Hourly rate: $7.50 - $9.00 (education and experience determined)
Aerobics Instructor
The Hazelwood YMCA is currently seeking an Aerobics Instructor.
YMCA Aerobics Instructor Position
Education/Training, Fitness Instructor. Contractual opportunity available for fitness instructors to run aerobics and physical education for school aged students from grades K-8. This position requires experience with group training, ability to motivate school aged population and provide quality structured fitness programming. Applicants must have a strong, technical background in multiple variations of aerobics. Must have certification, degree or equivalent in the health and fitness field. This position requires a car. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure students’ safety
- Teach the correct fitness methods depending on the class offered.
- Plan and create curriculum for classes around the skill levels of the students.
- Teach in an enthusiastic/energetic manner.
- Dress appropriately in proper uniform.
- Arrive early to all assignments.
- Attend weekly meeting.
- Knowledge of physical fitness.
- Instruct students on a variety aerobic exercises and toning exercises.
- Enforce all YMCA and school policies, rules and regulations.
- Complete records and reports as needed.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Students in the class
- Assistant Instructor
Qualifications/Experience
- Certified aerobics instructor preferred
Skills
- Aerobic dance.
- Responsible, reliable and likes working with school aged students.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Certified aerobic instructor preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certifications as well as Act33/34 clearances.
Physical Demands
- Meet the physical demands of teaching any aerobics session(s). Walking, lifting and running may be involved.
Work Environment/Environmental Conditions
- Aerobic classes are generally held in a class or gymnasium
Hours & Pay
Typically the range of hours is between 25-30 hours per week during the school calendar year. The pay is range between $13-$17 per hour.

Bachelor’s degree. Master’s preferred. Sr. Directors Completed. 5 or more years experience with executive leadership in a medium to large branch or equivalent.
