EAST SUBURBAN family YMCA ANNOUNCEs lead capital gift and expansion project
Pittsburgh, May 12, 2010 – The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh announced today that the Sampson Family Foundation presented the lead capital gift of $1 million to begin a campaign to raise funds for a major expansion and renovation of the East Suburban Family YMCA.
“This lead capital gift represents the Sampson family’s legacy of commitment to strong community ties that began three generations ago,” says Eric Mann, President and Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh. “The generous support of the Sampson family allows us to expand the East Suburban Family YMCA so that we can better serve the entire community for generations to come.”
Attending today’s event were Capital Campaign Co-chairs Richard Kacin and Kristy Rodriguez, who represent families who have come together for decades to support the efforts of the YMCA in the area.
The plans for the new building include an indoor swimming pool, warm water therapy center, expanded health and wellness center and more. The new facility will be named the Sampson Family YMCA.
